How do I know that I am covered before receiving treatment?

For planned hospital admissions it is advisable to consult your cover online on your personal website 'My ExpatPlus' or to contact our helpline to check whether the treatment is covered under your policy.

How quickly will I be reimbursed for medical expenses?

In principle, outpatient expenses are first to be settled by yourself. Afterwards, you can claim reimbursement by means of the appropriate claim form accompanied by the original invoices. After receipt of the claim, you will be reimbursed approximately within 10 working days.

Will I need to pay my bills to any hospital in order to receive treatment?

ExpatPlus offers you global cover and complete freedom of choice when it comes to hospitals, doctors and specialists. As a service to you, we make as many arrangements with medical service providers as possible about rates and direct payment of your invoice. So you get medical care at preferential rates and no longer have to advance the invoice amounts.

How quickly will I be reimbursed for outpatient treatment?

We will reimburse your expenses within max. 10 working days of receipt of your claim.

Am I able to access personal information online?

Yes. Our online services ('My ExpatPlus') will help you better manage your health. It not only gives you access to our database of medical providers, it also allows you to consult your plan coverage, monitor your own personal reimbursement information and download all forms.

Am I able to get help over the phone?

Yes. You can contact 24 hours, 365 days a year our in-house contact center in more than 20 languages. Languages currently offered for the personal websites are English, French, Dutch, and German. Your settlement notes online are available in the following languages: English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian.

What do I need to do in case of emergency treatment?

For emergency hospitalisation not requiring evacuation, you should contact Vanbreda International immediately. For emergency hospitalisation requiring evacuation, you need to contact Mondial Assistance. MA will set up the medical evacuation or repatriation and will notify Vanbreda International.
