Will I need to have a medical examination to join ExpatPlus?
No, you only need to complete a medical questionnaire. On occasions, our medical adviser can define partial exclusions, total exclusions or, propose an additional premium to waive exclusions. The obligation to complete a medical questionnaire is waived for group plans with compulsory affiliation of more than 5 employees.
Are any age limits applicable?
Anyone aged between 18 and 60 can apply to ExpatPlus. Above age 60, you cannot enrol into the plan. If you are enrolled on a compulsory basis by your employer, there is no specific age limit.
Can my family members also be covered?
Yes. Your spouse, partner, children can be covered and can be enrolled at any time. Your dependant children can be covered as from birth up to the age of 26.
Am I eligible for cover?
ExpatPlus is open to employers located in the European Economic Area to cover their expatriated employees (and their family members), anywhere in the world. ExpatPlus is also open to individual expatriates and their dependents whose home country or host country is located within the European Economic Area.
What happens when I return to my home country?
When you return to your home country as your permanent country of residence, thereby ending the period of expatriation abroad, the cover ends. However your cover does not end immediately giving you enough time to apply for another insurance or local social security scheme. An additional three months' period can be requested.
What do I need to do if I want to cancel my policy?
You can terminate your policy through registered letter at least one month in advance before the renewal date of the policy. For group contracts, the cancellation period can be different. Please contact us.
How quickly will I be covered?
You are covered on the day immediately following your application, the approval by our medical adviser and the receipt of your premium.
What minimum period of time can I be covered for?
The min. duration of our plans is fixed at 3 months.
Does my plan renew automatically?
Yes. Your policy will be renewed by tacit agreement for successive periods of 3 months each, unless otherwise agreed by the parties.
